Reproducing an architectural element

Accurately reproducing an architectural element requires more than taking measurements. It requires a clear process that connects digital technology with skilled metal fabrication.

At PJ Metal Craft, we use 3D scanning, CAD modeling, and traditional craftsmanship to document, recreate, and fabricate complex architectural components.

This process allows us to document hard-to-measure details, improve replication accuracy, and create dependable fabrication files before production begins.

Have an existing architectural element that needs to be documented or replicated?

Send us photographs and project information to discuss the best process for your application.

Our process includes:

1. On-Site or In-Shop Scanning

We capture the exact geometry of the existing element using portable 3D scanning technology.

2. Data Capture and Processing

The scan data is cleaned, aligned, and converted into a detailed point cloud.

3. CAD Modeling

The captured geometry is reconstructed into accurate CAD files.

4. Design Review and Approval

The model is reviewed for accuracy before fabrication or reproduction begins.

5. Manufacturing Integration

The approved digital data is used for CNC cutting, custom die making, metal forming, stamping, or hand fabrication.

6. Final Fabrication or Restoration

The physical component is carefully recreated to match the original design, proportions, and architectural character.
